Welcome to another year of Christian education at Messiah Lutheran Church!
Visitors are always welcome!
Our Sunday School program is growing! We love it when we are blessed with new children! We have open registration and plenty of classroom material! A map is posted on the Sunday School bulletin board in the Education Wing. Each classroom is labeled with the teacher’s name and grade. I am available each Sunday morning to assist you in any way that I can. Please join us!
Here are a few things to know as we begin a new year…
- Sunday school starts promptly at 9:45. Classes dismiss at 10:45.
- Due to the large number of exciting classes offered, we will no longer be meeting in the sanctuary. Please report to your assigned classroom. We will have a large group opening on the first Sunday of each month. Reminder signs will be posted.
- Younger children (1st grade and younger) must be picked up in their classrooms by a parent or older sibling to ensure their safety. The hallway in the education wing gets VERY crowded.
- No toys, ipods or cell phones allowed!
- Messiah Lutheran is continuing to grow! We have some very large classes this year. We are also starting a mission church in the Harvest area. We are not sure of the impact this will have on our classroom sizes. Please be flexible as we make the necessary adjustments. All changes will be posted on the bulletin board.
- Safety is very important to us. All of our teacher’s and volunteers must pass a background check in order to work with our youth.
We will be using a new curriculum this year! It is a wonderful program called “Spark”. It is from the Augsburg Publishing House. This is the same company that provides our outstanding VBS materials. Spark is designed to activate faith. It empowers children to use their creativity and imagination to explore scripture. More information can be found at www.activefaith.org.
