Special Care Ministries
Pastoral Care
Pastor Peterson provides pastoral care visits to people who are hospitalized or for people who are enduring difficulty. Due to confidentiality laws, hospitals no longer notify churches or pastors when a member is hospitalized, even when requested by the patient. If you or a member of your family are admitted to the hospital or schedule a hospital stay, please contact the church office so that Pastor may be notified.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers who provide on-to-one Christian care for individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. To speak with a Stephen minister, contact the Pastor.
Meals
When a member is hospitalized due to illness, injury or a new baby, members of our congregation will cook and bring meals to your home during your hospitalization and/or recovery periods. To request meals contact the church office or Judy Starkloff.
Home visits
Being confined at home can get lonely and spiritually taxing. Members who would like a visit from Pastor or Claire please contact the church office or Claire Strand.
Prayer Chain
Messiah Lutheran’s Prayer Chain has teams of devoted pray-ers who dedicate themselves to praying for the needs of our community. Your prayer request will be forwarded on to our pray-ers just as it is typed, so be as specific as you like. Click here to send your prayer request.
Transportation
Need a ride to church? Sunday School? Confirmation? Maybe to the doctor's office or the store? We would love to help. Contact the church office or Barbara Azzam.
Weddings
Getting married is one of the most important decisions in your life. Your desire to have a church wedding indicates that you see your marriage as a commitment made before God, with emphasis on the Christ-centered character of the wedding service. While there is room for flexibility in a church wedding, these guidelines are meant to make planning easier and more enjoyable. It is the policy of Messiah Lutheran Church that we provide this service for members only.
Funeral Hostesses
This caring group of ladies can assist in planning a memorial or funeral reception. Contact the church office if you would like to utilize this service.
Columbarium
The Columbarium is a special facility for the care and safekeeping of cremated remains. The name Columbarium is derived from the Latin “Columba” or "Dovecote", the dove being the symbol of God's spirit and peace.
Messiah has established a Columbarium on Church property to meet the needs of its congregation. In the peaceful beauty of the Sanctuary lives are memorialized. The ashes reposed in the walls of the Columbarium are commended to the glory of God and a reminder to all the we one day will experience the Resurrection.
