Worship Information For Our Guests

 

We are happy that you have chosen to worship with us, and encourage you to fill out a Visitor Card.  Please place the completed card in the offering plate, give it to Pastor Scott as you leave the service, or drop it off at the church office.

 

Services of Worship

 

Two worship services are offered every Sunday; one at 8:30 am and the other at 11:00 am. Sunday school is held from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.

 

Several different liturgies are used for worship at Messiah.  The services usually follows the traditional Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW), or the blue With One Voice (WOV) book.  If another worship setting is used, other than the two mentioned above, then this will be handed out by the ushers.

 

Although we usually follow a selected printed service, there are times when parts are omitted.  The Sunday bulletin can be referenced for the day’s program of worship, with additional guidance coming from Pastor Scott.

 

Many find it helpful to know that the order for worship can be found in the front of a hymnal, with page numbers at the bottom of the page, and that hymns are located in the back of a book with numbers printed on the top of the page.

 

Children’s Church - Children’s Church is offered each Sunday at the 11am service for ages 5-8.  Children’s sermons are given every 1st and 3rd Sunday.

 

The Lord’s Supper

 

All baptized Christians who believe in the real presence of Christ in the Lord’s Supper are invited and encouraged to receive this precious gift.  Please come forward at the direction of the ushers along the side aisles.  The communion rail is filled from the center front to the center back on each side.  After your have received the elements, return to your seat down the center aisle.

 

Nursery (for guests 0-4 years old)

 

Children are welcome to worship with us.  For your convenience nursery care is available.  The nursery is located through the double doors to your right as you enter the church.  Please ask an usher if you need assistance.
